In another odd series of events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Defense Minister announced the formation of an Islamic coalition to “fight” terrorism in the Muslim world.
The Saudi-led anti-terror coalition will be comprised of 34 countries that are primarily members of the Saudi and Qatari influenced Arab League.
According to the statement made by the Saudi Defense Minister, the anti-terror coalition will not only target the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS), but also, several other terrorist groups around the region.
Oddly enough, some of the largest terrorist groups in the Middle East are backed by the Saudi and Qatari regimes; however, they both deny providing any kind of support to the Al-Qaeda affiliates.
The Saudi Defense Minister left out a lot information regarding this new group, but he did name the states participating in the coalition:
- Sierra Leone
- Saudi Arabia
