23 year old Munir al-Adam has been sentenced to death for alleged “attacks on police” during protests in the predominately Shi’ite Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia in late 2011.

Al-Adam is partly blind and was already partially deaf at the time when the Saudi forces arrested him, however, he is now fully deaf in one ear because of police brutality while in custody.

Al-Adam’s family say his confession to any crime was extracted under torture.

“Munir Adam’s appalling case illustrates how the Saudi authorities are all too happy to subject the most vulnerable people to the swordsman’s blade – including juveniles and people with disabilities,” said Reprieve’s Death Penalty Team Director Maya Foa.

“Like so many others, Munir was arrested for allegedly attending protests, and tortured into a ‘confession’ – he was beaten so badly that he lost his hearing. It’s a scandal that Munir now faces beheading on the basis of a bogus statement that he has since recanted,” she added.

Saudi Arabia has recently been re-elected to the United Nations Human Rights Council.

As it’s a scandal how they treat women, as it’s a scandal they can get away with funding world terrorism, as it’s a scandal that although making trillions out of oil, 25% of population is under poverty threshold and I’m not even speaking about public services or schooling, sharia and bigot’s ruling… According to it’s inventor -Mussolini-, the definition of fascism is capitalism pushed to the extreme. Add to this racism/discriminations against any category of people, this is the definition of Nazism. KSA is nothing else than a Nazi state and if there’s a country REALLY deserving a regime change,… Read more »

Errr, no, Israel builds irrigation systems in Iran and sold them a lot of weapons too, all US-made Iranian aircrafts wouldn’t still be flying without Israeli technicians. Now, KSA is trying to befriend Israelis, especially to have also serious irrigation and desalination systems, domain were Israelis are world-leaders and they’re lurking on Israelis anti-missiles systems, domain where they are also world-leaders. Now, will it work? I can’t tell. Personally, I wouldn’t trust the Saudis, in fact, I’d prefer to play the Iranian card : even if there are still fanatical idiots in the circles of power, the Iranian society isn’t… Read more »

you say a lot of good stuff but that gas chamber bull is total bunk. There were no gas chamber type facilities in any of those camps. All the buildings in the records were not even close to performing as gas chambers (not gas sealed, and no way to pull all the gas out of the chamber to anywhere safe) So if any of those buildings were used with gas you would have dead germans trying to go back in and remove them with all that gas around. And the rooms were very small.. they would of had to do… Read more »

Several methods were used, gas chambers too, and not forcedly using Zyklon B which is nothing else than hydrogen-cyanide gas. i.e., in Treblinka, nothing like this but a Russian T-34 tank engine! In some camps, there were “Gaswagen” as those that al-Husseini told his fellow SS friends to have them following the Afrika-Korps. In Tunisia, they gassed about 2500ppl with this method. Auschwitz had several camps in fact. People were “selected”. Those who seemed fit to work were dispatched to forced labour and due to bad treatments, the death rate was enormous, those considered unfit and children were directly gassed… Read more »

If you say that only a select few were gassed, that is true, but many like to say that millions were gassed and the logistics/math is impossible at that scale. Many died of starvation AFTER the war ended. Once supply lines were cut and soldiers died, of course the POWs died as well. My other point is that there have been MANY mass deaths but it seems only the Nazi killing Jews is what matters. What about all the Japanese died from atomic bombs? How about the Kulaks? The Bolsheviks starved the Ukraine Christian farmers on their own farms…. What… Read more »
