Abdulrahman Al-Rassi

BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 P.M.) – The Saudi Ambassador to Russia Abdulrahman Al-Rassi stated on Friday that Moscow and Riyadh currently see eye-to-eye on the Syria settlement.

Rassi said that Russia and Saudi Arabia currently maintain close contacts on Syria and regional developments.

The Saudi Ambassador said that his government plans to discuss the prospects of a potential Vladimir Putin visit to Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia was previously an opponent of the Syrian government and still has no relations with Damascus; however, their tone appears to have changed dramatically over the last 12 months.

In fact, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Mu’allem acknowledged Riyadh’s change of tone during a speech last month.

Please treat this discussion with the same respect you would a public park. We, too, are a shared community resource — a place to share skills, knowledge and interests through ongoing conversation.

These are not hard and fast rules, merely guidelines to aid the human judgment of our community and keep this a clean and well-lighted place for civilized public discourse.

Improve the Discussion

Help us make this a great place for discussion by always working to improve the discussion in some way, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

You may wish to respond to something by disagreeing with it. That’s fine. But remember to criticize ideas, not people. Please avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Ad hominem attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction

Instead, provide reasoned counter-arguments that improve the conversation.

Los pueblos del mundo piden que llegue la democracia al pueblo de Arabia Saudita, nadie habla sobre la violación de Derechos Humanos que comete la Monarquía.

All the sickos like Bandar and his cronies have been dismissed and it’s likely that wahharabid clerics end with their beaks nailed. Seems king Salman is wiser than his predecessors… Changes are slow, maybe too slow, thus even if the Saudi… Read more »
