BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:15 A.M.) – Press gathered as former French President Nicolas Sarkozy returned to Paris’ Judiciary Police offices in Nanterre on Wednesday, for further questioning amid allegations of illegal election campaign financing.
Sarkozy was arrested on Tuesday over allegations that he received as much as €50 million (US $62 million) of illegal funding from the government of late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to fund his presidential campaign in 2007.
Sarkozy and his associates have denied the allegations.
