Russia’s Minister of Defense, Sergey Shoygo, said that the aircraft cruiser “Admiral Kuznetsov” will join Russian warships in the eastern Mediterranean.
“At the moment the Russian task force in the Eastern Mediterranean consists of no less than six combat ships and three or four logistic ships from all fleets. To build up the group’s combat capabilities we plan to reinforce it with The Admiral Kuznetsov-led group”, the minister said.
Earlier, military and diplomatic sources confirmed that the Russian flagship will participate in airstrikes against terrorists fighting the Syrian Army throughout Syria.
This summer, the ship passed the technical readiness of the restoration, then went on to test the updated air group which included the new deck fighters MiG-29K/KUB fighters and KA-52K helicopters.
