The Russian military advisors overseeing the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) battle against the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) inside the Deir Hafer Plains of east Aleppo have recently intensified the ground operations at this volatile front in order to accelerate the lifting of the two year long siege at the Kuweires Military Airport.
With the Russians leading the operations from the command room, the Syrian Arab Army’s Special Forces and the civilian-led “National Defense Forces” (NDF) have benefitted immensely from their guidance.
In fact, this logistical assistance from their Russian military advisors has propelled the Syrian Armed Forces to advance along the southwestern axis of the Kuweires Military Airport, resulting in the recent capture of Al-Salihiyah after fierce firefights with the terrorist group.
While their logistical support has been imperative, the Russians have also deployed a number of reconnaissance drones inside the Deir Hafer Plains to capture footage of the terrorist group’s movements along the Kuweires Military Airport’s frontlines.
The Russian military will soon be joined by the Syrian Arab Army’s “Cheetah Brigades” of the prestigious “Tiger Forces”; this SAA unit is likely to lead the charge against the terrorist group that is in control of most of this territory that stretches as far east as the provincial capital of Al-Raqqa.
