BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:20 A.M.) – The Syrian and Russian air forces launched several airstrikes over southwest Syria this morning, targeting a number of areas controlled by the rebel forces.
According to a military report from the government stronghold of Izra’a, the Syrian and Russian air forces launched their largest attack of the year on southwest Syria this morning.
The military report claimed that dozens of airstrikes were conducted in east Daraa, with the primary target being the rebel stronghold of Al-Hirak.
Meanwhile, in west Daraa, the Syrian and Russian air forces launched several strikes near the Yarmouk Basin region, hitting rebel strongholds like Nawa and Jassim.
Near the provincial capital, the Syrian and Russian air forces struck the southern portion of Dara’a city and the rebel positions near the towns of Yadoudah and Al-Na’imah.
The military report added that the joint Syrian-Russian airstrikes exceeded over 40 so far today, which is the highest number of airstrikes in southwest Syria since 2015.
