BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:15 A.M.) – A Russian strategic submarine, the Yuri Dolgoruky, successfully test-launched a salvo of four Bulava ballistic missiles from beneath the White Sea, Tuesday.
According to the Russian Defence Ministry, the missiles hit targets at the Kura range in the Kamchatka region.
They were the first salvo of this kind launched from this type of submarine.
The Yuri Dolgoruky belongs to the Russian Project 955 Borei-class. It joined the fleet in 2012, and carries 16 sea-based ballistic missiles and torpedoes.
