BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:00 P.M.) – An alleged attack by the Russian special forces on Wednesday was repelled by the Turkish-backed “National Liberation Front” (NLF) in the Jabal Al-Zawiya region of Idlib.
According to the claim, the Russian special forces attempted to infiltrate the militant defenses at the Beinin axis, but were repelled after clashing with the NLF.

Neither the Russian Ministry of Defense nor their Reconciliation Center in Syria have corroborated these claims.
In the past, the Turkish-backed militants have made similar claims, but allegations often turn out to be hyperbolized or untrue.
The Russian military has conducted very little combat operations over the last three months, as they have observed and implemented the Moscow Agreement, which was established on March 5th.
However, given the recent attacks by the jihadist rebels, there is a strong chance that the Russian military will intensify their strikes against these militants in the coming days.
