BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:20 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force has conducted several flights over the Idlib Governorate, tonight, following an attempted drone attack by the jihadist rebels.
Russian IL-20 reconnaissance planes were seen hovering over the Idlib-Latakia axis and circling the jihadist stronghold of Jisr Al-Shughour, a military source told Al-Masdar News this evening.
The source said that the Syrian Air Force also conducted several flights over the Idlib Governorate, but they avoided launching any airstrikes against the enemy troops.
On Wednesday, the jihadist rebels attempted their first drone attack on the Hmeimim Airport since the Sochi agreement on September 17th.
While the jihadist attack drone did manage to reach the southwestern countryside of Latakia, it was eventually shot down by the Syrian air defense.
