Russia’s Black Sea Fleet frigate Admiral Essen returned to Sevastopol on Saturday, after completing its mission as part of the Russian Navy’s group in the Mediterranean.
The frigate had performed tasks in the Mediterranean Sea since March this year.
During the cruise, the vessel conducted various drills, involving anti-submarine missions and fire exercises on ground and air targets.
The Admiral Essen is a frigate of the Admiral Grigorovich class of the Russian Navy.
The vessel is 124.8 metres long (409 feet), with a displacement up to 4,035 tonnes.
It is equipped with the armament systems, including Kalibr missiles, Igla rockets, 100-milimetre artillery weapons and a helipad.
