BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:50 P.M.) – The Russian Navy fired several cruise missiles towards the Islamic State’s (ISIL) positions in central Syria last night, a military source told Al-Masdar News this morning.

According to the military source, the Russian Navy targeted the Islamic State installations inside the terrorist group’s stronghold of ‘Uqayrbat, which is located in the eastern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

This latest attack by the Russian Navy comes just days after the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) began their offensive in the eastern countryside of Salamiyah.

The Syrian Arab Army is now attacking the Islamic State’s positions in northeastern Hama, where they are hoping to link-up with their forces in the Homs Governorate.
