BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:30 P.M.) – The Russian military will participate in the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) upcoming offensive to lift the two year long siege on the Deir Ezzor Governorate, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced today.

The Russian Air Force will likely provide the primary air cover to the Syrian Arab Army in east Homs, while their military advisers embed with the latter.

This announcement from the Russian Ministry of Defense comes just hours after the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces arrived in the Palmyra countryside to begin this upcoming operation.

The military operation’s first target will be the desert town of ‘Arak, which is located along the Sukhnah-Palmyra Road in eastern Homs.

God speed and good fortune to the Russian liberators from US inspired terrorists . With the SAA and Syria’s courageous allies leading the way to freedom. Iran must of course be recognised for her great support of Syria throughout these dark years of conflict.

ISIS is not US inspired, it’s Haddith+Muslim Brotherhood inspired! Could they nuke USA, they’d do it in the minute. USA has no direct responsibility in ISIS except their stupid errors. Not really the same about the creepy “moderate rebels” although Qatar, Turkey and KSA are much more implied. In this case, they’re an underdog, not the leading force as many seem to think. Where is Iranian AF? Even sending only 1 or 2 squadrons of old F-4 and same for their Cobra choppers, would greatly help! There is a freaking lack of air support, especially CAS. Even old cows like… Read more »

@Daeshbag,

We all know via Wikileaks and other whistle blowers that the CIA,UK and other NATO nations , such as Turkey have been Aiding, Arming and Abetting ISIS and her close companion in crime Al Nusra within Syria.
Plus of course all the Israel friendly Gulf States etc that via Wikileaks we know are colluding with Israel in the destruction of Syria.

The USA/Israel had been planning the occupation of Syria for decades.

Just some food for thought: The closest distance from non Daesh occupied but “safe” SDF administered territory to Deir ez-Zor is ONLY 43 or 49 or 79 km, depending if you take the (long) M 7 route from Marqadah or shorter local roads either through the desert along the train line from Hasakah or from Zalabiyah along the Euphrates. The road connection by M 4 from Aleppo to Qamislo and (shortcut via 716) to the M 7 at Hasakah (where the SAA sill has own bases) is already fully restored. Daesh is occupied around Palmyra, in Raqqah, at Deir ez-Zor… Read more »
