BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 A.M.) – On Friday, six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers from the Russian Air Force completed another important mission against the so-called Islamic State (ISIS).

The Russian bombers specifically targeted the Islamic State’s positions along the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.

As a result of these airstrikes on Friday, several Islamic State installations and concentrations of power were reportedly destroyed.

Moreover, Su-24 bombers from the Hmaymim Airbase attacked several other Islamic State targets in Deir Ezzor, scoring direct hits on the terrorist group’s positions.

Video footage of the Russian airstrikes was released by the Ministry of Defense on Friday evening:

This is interesting as only this week I read that the US had ‘forbidden ‘ any Syrian alliance forces from bombing or otherwise attacking targets on the Eastern Euphrates , including ISIS. 🙂
