BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:20 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force continued to provide aerial coverage to the Turkish Army on Wednesday, striking the Islamic State’s defenses around the western outskirts of Al-Bab in east Aleppo.
According to a Syrian military source, the Russian Air Force carried out at least a half dozen airstrikes above Al-Bab today, killing and wounding several militants from the Islamic State.
Today’s attack against the Islamic State in Al-Bab marks the the third time this week that the Russian Air Force has targeted this terrorist group in order to aid the Turkish Armed Forces.
The Turkish Army is expected to launch another attack in the western countryside of Al-Bab in the coming days, as they attempt to close-in on this Islamic State stronghold in east Aleppo.
