BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:55 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force reemerged in southern Syria on Monday to help the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) troops under a heavy attack by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham inside Dara’a City.

Russian jets swarmed the provincial capital of Dara’a this morning, carrying out more than 20 airstrikes on Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions in the Al-Manishiyah District.

These devastating airstrikes would pave the way for the Syrian Arab Army’s 5th Armored Division to launch an important counter-offensive to recover the territory they lost inside the Al-Manishiyah District this weekend.

Intense clashes are ongoing at several axes inside the Al-Manishiyah District, as the Syrian Army takes the initiative in this strategic area.
