Russian jets pound ISIL’s positions in east Aleppo

BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:10 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force launched several airstrikes over the eastern countryside of Aleppo on Tuesday, targeting the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) defenses near the key city of Al-Bab.

According to a military source in Aleppo City, the Russian Air Force carried out a large number of airstrikes over Al-Bab today, hitting several Islamic State targets near the Al-Farouq Hospital and Jabal Aqil.

These Russian airstrikes on Tuesday provided the Turkish Army necessary air cover while they were advancing on the Islamic State’s positions in western Al-Bab.

The Russian Air Force will continue providing air cover to the Turkish Army, as long as they attack terrorist groups operating inside of Syria.
