BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:50 P.M.) – Officers of the Russian Interior Ministry, Federal Security Service (FSB) and National Guard detained a supporter of the self-proclaimed IS (Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS/ISIL) in Irkutsk, Tuesday.

The 30-year-old was wanted from Interpol for participating in IS activities. The detainee had managed to be employed as a worker in the regional construction organisation in Irkutsk, where he was caught by policemen.

According to Irina Volk, spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Russia, the detainee was being kept in custody and “the extradition enquiry is underway according to which outcomes the decision will be made”.
