BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:25 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force unleashed a heavy attack in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia Governorate this morning.

Led by their Mi-28 and Ka-52 choppers, the Russian Air Force repeatedly struck the jihadist stronghold of Kabani, inflicting heavy damage on the defenses of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party.

Russian attack followed the Syrian Arab Army’s heavy barrage of artillery, which primarily targeted the jihadist defenses at the southern axis of Kabani.

Speaking to the Sputnik News Agency on Wednesday, a Syrian military source said that the army is currently working to weaken the jihadist defenses around Kabani before they launch a large-scale attack on the town.

He would add that the Syrian Army will capture the hilltops surrounding Kabani before making a push to seize the town.

Never noticed that SyAAF hasn’t napalm?
In fact, nobody still makes napalm cannisters for long now. It has been replaced by thermobarics.

Russia air support is totally fundamental for SAA be able to make some advance, without Russia air support, SAA can not make any advance at all.

The problem comes from the fact that Assad totally neglected to replace SyAAF ageing aircraft when he came to power. Most of the AF was already 20-40 years old in 2000, so, in 2011… Turkish+Qatari analysts had it easy to predict that obsolete and worn out SyAAF wouldn’t be effective for long, added to the lack of guided weapons etc… Assad did a terrible mistake, when he was courted by Europe’s VIPs, to not take profit of it to both renew SyAAF’s inventory while cutting ties with some of his father’s millstones, he’d so had gained two points : Turks+Qataris… Read more »
