BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:20 P.M.) – A large convoy of Russian military police arrived in the YPG-held Afrin Canton this week after an agreement was made between the two parties.

According to YPG media relations, the Russian military police agreed to monitor the Afrin Canton in northwestern Aleppo, as part of a de-escalation agreement in this part of the country.

Video footage of the Russian military police’s arrival in Afrin was filmed by local Kurdish activists this week:

The arrival of these military police could not come at a worse time for the Turkish Armed Forces, as they were in the process of attacking the Kurdish militias in this enclave.
