BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:55 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force has played a vital role in the systematic destruction of the Islamic State’s military capabilities, while also propelling the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their allies to recover large swathes of territory in the process.

On Saturday, the Russian Air Force was working overtime in central Syria, carrying out a large number of airstrikes over the Islamic State’s defenses.

With the Islamic State rattled, the Syrian Arab Army was able to make a large push along the Deir Ezzor-Palmyra Highway, liberating more than 20km of territory.

The video footage below shows the Syrian Arab Army liberating several areas along the Deir Ezzor-Palmyra Highway:

The Syrian Arab Army is now pushing to lift the two year long siege of the Deir Ezzor Governorate’s provincial capital, while also destroying the last remnants of the Islamic State in central Syria.
