BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:00 P.M.) – For the first time this year, the Russian Air Force used their attack choppers to strike the rebels in northwestern Syria.

Based on footage obtained by the pro-opposition STEP News Agency, the Russian Air Force appears to use their Mi-28 choppers, which is most commonly used by the latter inside Syria.

Per the video above, the Russian Air Force was targeting the town of Al-Latamnah in the northern countryside of the Hama Governorate.

Al-Latamnah is considered Jaysh Al-Izza’s primary stronghold in northern Hama; it is often the target of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) missiles and artillery shells.

Since the start of March, the Russian Air Force has carried out several attacks against Jaysh Al-Izza and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham in both the Hama and Idlib governorates.

These daily airstrikes by the Russian Air Force come at the same time the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) builds up their forces around the demilitarized zone.

The Syrian Arab Army is preparing to launch a large-scale operation that will target all of the rebel-held areas inside the demilitarized zone in the Hama and Idlib governorates.

The demilitarized zone referenced above was created by Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan during their September 17, 2018 meeting in Sochi.

Seems that in Erdogon’s head, “demilitarised” means filled with terrorists…
