BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force launched their largest attack of the year on the Idlib Governorate in northwestern Syria last night.
Using their fleet of Sukhoi jets, the Russian Air Force pounded the Idlib Governorate with over 30 airstrikes, mostly targeting the areas controlled by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
According to a military source in the nearby Latakia Governorate, the Russian Air Force repeatedly struck Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s positions along the Idlib-Hama Highway.
These airstrikes managed to disrupt the flow of the jihadist supplies to the front-lines in both the Idlib and Aleppo governorates.
The Russian Air Force launched these airstrikes on the western countryside of the Idlib Governorate after the jihadist rebels targeted the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions near the Al-Ghaab Plain.
Over the last 24 hours, the Russian Air Force has launched airstirkes inside the Idlib, Homs, and Deir Ezzor governorates.
The airstrikes over the Homs and Deir Ezzor governorates specifically targeted the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) sleeper cells that have been wreaking havoc on the government’s positions near the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur).
