BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:30 P.M.) – The Russian Aerospace Forces continued their air campaign over the central region of Syria this week, hitting several sites belonging to the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) terrorist organization.
According to field report from the Homs Governorate, the Russian Aerospace Forces unleashed the heavy strikes over southern Al-Raqqa, eastern Hama and northeastern Homs.
In particular, the majority of the airstrikes targeted the area near the historical town of Al-Resafa, which is where the Islamic State has carved out a small stronghold to carry out attacks against the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF).
In addition to the strikes on southern Al-Raqqa, the Russian Aerospace Forces targeted the Al-Sa’an District of eastern Hama and Badiya Al-Sukhnah region of northeastern Homs.
The Russian Aerospace Forces have been conducting daily airstrikes over central and eastern Syria, often coinciding with the Syrian Arab Army’s search and destroy operations against the Islamic State.
