BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 P>M.) – The Russian Air Force was spotted over the Idlib and Aleppo countrysides, yesterday, as the situation around the demilitarized zone continues to worsen.

According to a military source in the Hama province, the Russian Air Force’s IL-20 spy planes were spotted flying around the western parts of the Aleppo and Idlib governorates for several hours on Wednesday.

The source said that the Russian Air Force was monitoring the movements of the jihadist rebels that had been launching constant attacks on the government’s positions in these areas.

With the tensions running high over repeated violations in the demilitarized zone, it appears the Russian military is preparing to aid the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in their upcoming assault around the demilitarized zone.

This could spell trouble for Turkey and their rebel allies because they are shifting their focus to the YPG fronts in northern Syria.
