BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:50 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force has unleashed a massive aerial assault on northern Hama and southern Idlib, today, hitting several areas controlled by the militants.

Russian jets from the Hmeimim Airbase repeatedly struck the militant positions, destroying their dens and storages in northern Hama and southern Idlib.
The source said the Russian airstrikes were conducted in response to the jihadist attacks on Latakia city, Slunfeh, and the Hmeimim Airbase on Thursday.
The jihadist rebels began their attack by firing a number of grad missiles towards Latakia city; these projectiles would land in the southern district of the provincial capital.
Following this attack, the jihadist rebels began targeting the mountainous town of Slunfeh with a plethora of grad missiles from their positions along the Latakia-Idlib axis.
Finally, the jihadist rebels would launch one last attack, but this time it would target the Russian Hmeimim Airbase near the coastal city of Jableh in southwest Latakia.
The Russian Air Force would ultimately repel the jihadist attack, which was carried out by their assault drones.
