BEIRUT, LEBANON 5:10 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force has continued their aerial campaign over the northwestern region of Syria, today, expanding their attack to the southern countryside of the Idlib Governorate.
According to a military report from the Hama Governorate, the Russian Air Force conducted several strikes over the key town of Khan Sheikhoun, hitting a number of targets belonging to Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
These strikes by the Russian Air Force mark the first time that they have targeted southern Idlib since the conditional ceasefire was put in place last Thursday.
At the same time, the Syrian Air Force has begun targeting the front-lines towns of Kafr Zita, Al-Latamnah, and Zakah.
In response to these airstrikes, the jihadist rebels have fired several artillery shells and grad rockets towards the Hama Airbase and the towns of Al-Jayyid and Joureen.
