BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:50 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force unleashed another powerful set of airstrikes over the northwestern region of Syria this weekend, targeting several sites belonging to the jihadist rebels.

Led by their jets and choppers, the Russian Air Force began their strikes on Sunday by targeting the southwestern region of the Idlib Governorate.

According to a military report from the neighboring Latakia Governorate, the Russian Air Force launched several strikes on the southern Idlib towns of Kafr Nabl, Rakaya, and Al-‘Amiriyah.

Following the strikes on southern Idlib, the Russian Air Force launched several airstrikes on the jihadist stronghold of Kabani in the northeastern countryside of the Latakia.

The report said the Russian Air Force attack primarily concentrated on the network of tunnels used by the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party.

Kabani has been one of the main targets for the Russian Air Force since they restarted their aerial assault over the northwestern region of Syria.
