BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:00 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force wasted no time attacking jihadists in rural Latakia after the ceasefire in northwestern Syria was called off by the Syrian Armed Forces.
Led by attack choppers and their Sukhoi jets, the Russian Air Force continued their heavy bombardment of northeastern Latakia this afternoon.
According to a military source in the Latakia Governorate, the Russian Air Force has launched several strikes over the jihadist strongholds of Sirmaniyeh and Kabani, causing significant damage to the defenses of the Turkestan Islamic Party and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.
As Russian aircraft pound the jihadist positions in northeastern Latakia, the Syrian Arab Army is once again mobilizing troops for an offensive at Kabani.
The source added the Syrian Army’s 4th Armored Division and Republican Guard have been mobilizing their troops and equipment for a major push to capture this jihadist stronghold near the Idlib Governorate border.
