BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:55 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force took out a large Islamic State (ISIL) base in the eastern countryside of the Hama Governorate this week, the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported Thursday.

The Ministry would release footage of a Russian jet destroying the Islamic State headquarters in the east Hama town of Jubb Al-Abyad, showing the moment a bomb hit the terrorist group’s installation east of Salamiyah City.

Due to the upcoming Syrian Army offensive in east Hama, the Russian Air Force has recently stepped up their airstrikes in this province to weaken the Islamic State’s resolve.

ISIL has long maintained a presence in the eastern countryside of Hama, wrecking havoc in the government areas on several occasions; this has prompted the Syrian Arab Army to expel them once and for all.
