BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:10 P.M.) – The Russian Aerospace Forces have been relentlessly targeting the jihadist rebels in the southwestern countryside of the Idlib Governorate today.
Using their plethora of warplanes, the Russian Aerospace Forces have been hammering the Jisr Al-Shughour District, striking several areas controlled by the foreign-led Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP)
These airstrikes this afternoon come just hours after the Russian Aerospace Forces and their ground troops unleashed a powerful attack along the Turkish border with the Idlib Governorate.
The primary target for the Russian Aerospace Forces this afternoon has been the jihadist border-crossing into the Jisr Al-Shughour District.
This crossing has been repeatedly used by the jihadist rebels to transport supplies to the Idlib Governorate.
The Russian military conducted these strikes in retaliation for the jihadist attacks on the Hmeymim Airbase in southwest Latakia.
The jihadist rebels are believed to be behind the three armed drone attacks that have targeted the Russian military’s Hmeymim Airbase.
While no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the Russian military has accused the Uzbek and Turkestani jihadists of carrying out these armed drone attacks.
The Russian military has managed to repel all of these armed drone attacks, despite the prevalence of these strikes by this unknown group in the Latakia Governorate.
