BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:30 P.M.) – The Russian Air Force kept busy on Wednesday, carrying out sorties over the so-called “Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s” (ISIS) positions in the western countryside of Palmyra.
While the Russians attacked the Islamic State’s positions in western Palmyra, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hezbollah were busy fighting off the terrorists attempting to infiltrate the T-4 Military Airport’s security box.
According to a source at this military installation in eastern Homs, the Syrian Arab Army beat back the Islamic State militants attempting to infiltrate their defenses, killing and wounding over 25 terrorists in the process of repelling the attack.
In addition to the death toll, the Islamic State also suffered heavy losses to their equipment, as the Syrian Arab Army reportedly destroyed 2 tanks and 3 technical vehicles mounted with 23mm anti-aircraft machine guns
The Islamic State’s failed offensive today took place just 5 km east of the T-4 Military Airport and more than 30 km west of the ancient city of Palmyra.
