BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:20 A.M.) – The Russian Air Force carried out a number of airstrikes over the Idlib countryside on Sunday, as they targeted several sites belonging to the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham.

Led their aircraft from the Hmeimim (var. Khmeimim) Airbase in Latakia, the Russian Air Force unleashed a plethora of strikes near the city of Ariha, hitting jihadist targets in the strategic Arba’een Mountains of the Idlib Governorate.

According to an army source in the Latakia Governorate, the Russian Air Force attack managed to destroy some jihadist bases that were used by Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham militants.

The Russian Air Force reportedly launched two separate set of airstrikes on Sunday, with most of the strikes focused on an area near the city of Ariha.

Since the start of October, the Russian Air Force has launched airstrikes over the Idlib Governorate on at least four occasions, with the majority of them being carried out in the western region.
