The Russian Air Force is currently striking the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham’s (ISIS) positions along several kilometers of desert terrain in the Homs Governorate’s eastern countryside tonight as they continue their aerial campaign to weaken the terrorist group’s defenses.
According to a military source at the T-4 Military Airport in east Homs, the Russian Air Force has already struck ISIS’ positions at Al-Sukhanah, Quraytayn, Mahsaa, ‘Arak, Jabal Al-Sha’ar, and Jabal Jazal.
The Russian Air Force has also hit several ISIS targets near the Al-Raqqa Governorate’s border with the Deir Ezzor Governorate; this area is incredibly important due its makeshift roads created by ISIS to transport oil.
Over the last 6 hours, the Russian Air Force has conducted over 40 airstrikes; these strikes are likely to intensify as dawn approaches.
