BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:50 P.M.) – Russian military engineers and pilots have worked together for the last three years of the Syrian conflict to improve their aircraft, as shown in footage from Khmeimim Airbase, released on Thursday.

General Designer of the United Aircraft Corporation Sergei Korotkov praised the collaboration, saying it “has enabled us to address the weaknesses and improve the operation of traditional aircraft.”

He added, “The credit for this goes to collaboration between industry workers and military specialists.”

Difficult weather conditions, heat and the high frequency of flights have allowed engineers to test and develop new equipment under taxing circumstances. Mig-29 pilots have flown over 140 journeys since September, during which time engineers have further improved bombing accuracy and range.
