Turkey’s New Relationship with Russia

BEIRUT, LEBANON (2:21 A.M.) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has praised his Turkish counterparts role in trying to secure a ceasefire in Syria.

“We outlined further steps in the context of the fight against terrorism in Syria and the political settlement in that country,” Putin said.

He noted that “it was possible to achieve the cessation of hostilities between the Syrian government troops and the armed opposition largely thanks to the vigorous role played by Russia and Turkey,” Putin said.
