Russia’s main ship from project 22800, “the Hurricane”, has started its tests on Lake Ladoga, according to the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defense.
During the tests, it is planned to carry out a comprehensive check of a number of ship life support systems.
After the completion of all tests, it will be included in the Baltic Fleet.
The MRK of project 22800 was designed by the central marine design bureau ‘Almaz’.
Ships with a displacement of about 800 tons develop a speed of more than 30 knots. They are equipped with high-precision missiles and modern artillery and anti-sabotage complexes, as well as advanced radio-technical weapons.
Among the main advantages of these ships – high maneuverability, increased seaworthiness, as well as the architecture of superstructures and hulls, made using techniques of reduced reflectivity.
