Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin agreed during a meeting on Saturday to strengthen and develop their military ties, IRNA reported.
During the meeting Dehqan and Rogozin held talks on bilateral, regional and international issues.
Both sides also discussed the latest defense and technical developments.
They also underscored accelerating the implementation of agreements between two countries.
Rogozin attended President Hassan Rouhani’s inauguration ceremony which was held in Tehran on Saturday.
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Thursday gave the official seal of approval to President Rouhani who won a landslide victory and was re-elected as next president on May 19 presidential election.
