Syria will be discussed comprehensively at the June 16 meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump in Helsinki, Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told the media on Friday.
The CNN on Thursday said Trump hoped to clinch a deal with Putin in Helsinki that would allow for prompt pullout of US troops from Syria.
“I have no idea what the CNN report is based on, if there is something real behind this report. We know nothing and cannot but feel surprised,” Peskov said.
“They say Trump is going to discuss this issue. We know nothing what Trump is going to talk about. There can be no doubts that Syria will be discussed at the summit comprehensively, though. A detailed discussion over Syria is due,” he added.
