BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 P.M.) – The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Minister, Maria Zakharova, called on the U.S. to fulfill its legal obligations and withdraw from Syria.
During her short press conference on Thursday, Zakharova stated that Russia has credible information regarding the presence of hundreds of Islamic State (ISIS) fighters currently active in the Al-Tanf Zone.
Furthermore, Zakharova said that ISIS and elements of Jabhat Al-Nusra are currently active near the Al-Rukban Camp.
She pointed out that Washington has not yet allowed the United Nations access to the camp in order to provide aid to the people there.
Zakharova would conclude her statement by pointing out the ceasefire infractions committed by the rebel forces in Idlib.
The Russian diplomat said that the Russian military has downed more than 45 drones at the Hmeymim Airbase since July, adding that these unmanned aerial vehicle all belonged to the jihadist rebels in Idlib.
