South African fly-half Morne Steyn has been suspended for two weeks pending a French National Rugby League disciplinary hearing.
The 30-year-old was red-carded in Stade Francais’ 12-9 defeat at Lyon last Friday which saw them lose the Top 14 leadership.
Steyn, the top-scorer at the 2011 World Cup, will appear before the disciplinary commission on January 22.
Steyn had kicked Stade into a 6-0 lead with a 40-metre penalty and a drop goal.
But after Mosese Ratuvou had cut the deficit with the opening try, Steyn saw red in the 31st minute for kicking the Fijian winger as the two tussled on the ground.
