BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:00 P.M.) – A large rally was held in support of reconciliation with the government inside the east Daraa town of Ghariyah Al-Sharqiyah today.
According to state-owned Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), a large number of civilians gathered in the town square and began chanting in support of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and reconciliation.
In turn, field commanders who participated in the gathering said that that Syrian Arab Army will continue fighting terrorism until its eradicated from the country.
They also called on locals to return to their villages that have been cleared by the army.
During the past few days, Syrian Arab Army units have restored security and stability to a number of villages and towns in the Daraa countryside, including Ghariyah Al-Gharbiyah, Ghariyah Al-Sharqiyah, Kaheel, Rakham, al-Msifra, al-Hirak, Alma and Al-Soura.
Several of these towns have joined local reconciliations, including Abta, Dael and Um Al-Mayadhin, as the Syrian army is continuing military operations to clear the rest of Daraa.
