DAMASCUS, SYRIA (2:20 P.M.) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) liberated an important chunk of the Jobar suburb as the 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard resumed its operations in eastern Damascus.

Targeting the northwestern sector of the embattled neighborhood, the Republican Guard captured some 10 buildings on Tuesday afternoon in an advance which seemingly cements the siege of Al-Qaboun and Barzeh.

Both sides claimed to have destroyed an enemy bulldozer during the clashes while Ahrar Al-Sham also said it had destroyed a T-62 tank with a M79-Osa 90 mm anti-tank weapon. Failaq Al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham militants were also involved in the clashes.

Bulldozers are highly important to pave the way for offensives in Jobar as the district has been entirely razed to the ground following five years of merciless firefights.
