The extremist rebels have launched an important offensive in the southern countryside of the Aleppo Governorate this afternoon, targeting the strategic hilltop village of Tal Al-‘Eiss that is currently under Syrian government control.
The Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” announced this southern Aleppo offensive on Friday afternoon; however, so far, they have only shelled the Syrian Arab Army’s positions at Tal Al-‘Eiss – the main attack has not yet begun.
The main rebel assault is expected to begin in the coming hours as they continue to pound the Syrian Arab Army’s positions near Tal Al-‘Eiss.
Fighting alongside Jabhat Al-Nusra in southern Aleppo are the extremist rebel factions Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda franchise), and Ajnad Al-Sham.
