BEIRUT, LEBANON (3:05 P.M.) – A rebel-commandeered vehicle has been destroyed by a roadside bomb in Syria’s southern province of Daraa resulting in the death of two of its three passengers.
Today, a group of three Free Syrian Army fighters from Liwa Ahfad al-Rasoul traveling from Daraa city to the town of Um Elmiathin inside rebel-held territory had their vehicle struck by a roadside bomb.
The detonation caused catastrophic damage to the vehicle, killing two of the rebel fighters and wounding the third passenger.
The two fighters who died have been identified by opposition sources as Mustafa Hamad and Basel Mahamid.
As usual, it is unknown which faction (be it a rival militia or pro-government spies) planted the bomb or what the motive was for the attack.
