A three month old baby girl was reportedly wounded in the shoulder on Friday when a rebel sniper from the nearby town of Binnish opened fire on her and her mother in Al-Fou’aa.
The rebel sniper was said to be positioned at the olive fields that connect Al-Fou’aa and Binnish – he was not captured by the local defense forces.
According to Al-Manar TV, the three month old baby girl was identified as Fatima Shaqoul of Al-Fou’aa.
The Shaqoul family reported that they lost another child last year as a result of sniper fire from the rebel-held town of Binnish.
Fatima is still in critical condition.
The predominately Shi’i towns of Al-Fou’aa and Kafraya have been under a brutal siege imposed by Jaysh Al-Fateh (Army of Conquest) since April of 2015.
