DAMASCUS, SYRIA (3: 40 P.M.) – At least 16 militants were killed, 15 others injured as several FSA-affiliated groups were caught in fierce infighting near the city of al-Bab located some 38 km to the northeast of Aleppo.
Pro-rebel activists reported that fighters from the 1st Regiment, Faylaq al-Sham and Al-Hamza Division – all embedded with the Turkish-backed Euphrates Shield – were involved in fierce fighting in the eastern outskirts of al-Bab, which left dozens killed and wounded.
Faylaq al-Sham, therefore, sent huge reinforcements to the area to protect its militants from future clashes.
The same activists expressed deep concern over potential infighting as most of the killed militants belong to prominent and influential families in the area.
Last February, the city of Al-Bab was fully captured by the Euphrates Shield forces following fierce battles with the self-proclaimed Islamic State.
