On Saturday morning inside the East Ghouta of rural Damascus, the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade of the Republican Guard acrried out a devastating tunnel attack on the Jaysh Al-Islam (Army of Islam) headquarters in the city of Jobar, resulting in the complete destruction of this large building located near the Tayba Mosque in the east district.

Video footage was posted by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) inside the dilapidated city of Jobar as they utilized their newest military tactic of carrying out attacks on the Islamist rebels via tunnel warfare.

This latest tactic proved successful for the Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade and severely detrimental to the Islamist rebels of Jaysh Al-Islam, who were unknowingly attacked by a large tunnel bomb under their command headquarters.

The Syrian Arab Army’s 105th Brigade and their allies will likely continue to strike Jaysh Al-Islam and their Islamist affiliates in the East Ghouta with this kind of warfare; it has seemingly worked so far, despite the limited number of attacks conducted by the pro-government forces.

Footage of the tunnel attack on Saturday is posted below:
