BEIRUT, LEBANON (9:00 P.M.) – A jihadist rebel from the Maldives in Southeast Asia was reportedly killed by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the northern Hama countryside on Saturday.
“Abu Yousif Al-Maldivi” was mourned by several Syrian opposition activists on Sunday after Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham’s media wing released the information regarding his death.
According to the Al-Qaeda affiliate’s media wing, Abu Yousif Al-Maldivi was reportedly killed during clashes with the Syrian Arab Army inside the key town of Taybat Al-Imam in northern Hama.
The Maldives are located in the Arabian Sea, just southwest of India.
