BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:50 P.M.) – For over a month, the Turkish Army and their rebel allies have tried to capture Al-Bab from the Islamic State (ISIS); however, each and every assault has failed to achieve any significant gains around this strategic city in east Aleppo.
With the Islamic State concentrated on beating back the Turkish Armed Forces, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) has taken advantage of the terrorist group’s poor defenses in the southern part of Al-Bab, liberating a number of villages in the last 48 hours.
On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” continued their rapid advance in the east Aleppo countryside, launching a powerful attack to capture the village of Barlihiyeh from the Islamic State terrorists in the Al-Bab Plateau.
This attack would prove successful, as the Syrian Arab Army declared Barlihiyeh under their full control before nightfall on Thursday.
The Syrian Arab Army’s next target is the key village of Souran, which is considered one of the Islamic State’s last strongholds south of Al-Bab city.
